What a Private ITI's Website Should Show Before the Admission Session

Short answer: a private ITI's website should let a student or parent confirm, in a minute, five things: that the institute is affiliated, which trades it teaches and how many seats there are, what it costs, what the workshops and instructors look like, and what happens after the course. Everything shown should match the institute's official records.
Is a website compulsory for an ITI?
We checked the Directorate General of Training's Affiliation Norms for ITIs 2025 (circular of 18 December 2025) and recent affiliation orders, and did not find a rule that makes a website compulsory for an ITI. Affiliation and trade details are kept in official DGT systems, and students increasingly use Skill India Digital.
So the reason to have a website is not a rule; it is admissions. Families search before they visit, and an ITI with clear trades, real workshop photographs and a working phone number gets the call. If DGT issues new requirements, follow the current norms on dgt.gov.in.
The checklist
- Affiliation: NCVT or SCVT status for each trade, shown as in your official records.
- Trades: each trade with units and seats, duration, eligibility and what the student learns.
- Fees: per trade, or a clear range with what it includes.
- Instructors: names and qualifications.
- Workshops: your own photographs of machines, labs and practical work, not stock images.
- After the course: apprenticeships, placements and the companies students have joined.
- Admissions: how and when to apply, documents needed, and a phone and WhatsApp number that someone answers.
- Address and map: the full address, a map and directions from the bus stand.
- Mobile first: most families open the site on a phone, on mobile data.
Getting enquiries before the session
A trade-wise enquiry form, with the trade already selected from the page the student is reading, gives your counsellors a name and number to call. Add a Google Business Profile with the same name, address and phone as the website, ask past students for reviews, and post admission dates as the session approaches.
Questions ITI owners ask us
Should we show NCVT or SCVT status on the website?
Yes. Show the affiliation exactly as it appears in your official records, trade by trade, so a family can check it. If a trade is awaiting affiliation, say so plainly.
Should the website show fees?
Show the fee for each trade, or at least the range and what it covers. Families shortlisting ITIs often skip institutes that hide fees.
Can students register online?
Yes. A trade-wise enquiry or registration form can send each enquiry to your office by email and WhatsApp, so your counsellors can call back the same day.
When should the website be ready?
Before families start comparing institutes, which is weeks before the state admission process opens. Build it in the quiet months, not during admissions.
