Short answer: NCTE’s 2014 recognition regulations address an institution’s own website and specified public information in regulation 7(14). Regulation 8(14) requires up-to-date mandatory disclosure in the prescribed format on the official website. A B.Ed college must check its own recognition order and programme-specific conditions before treating any list as complete.

What is the NCTE website rule?

Regulation 7(14)(i) of the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2014 says an applicant institution shall launch its own website soon after receiving a letter of intent, with links to the Council and relevant regional office. The text identifies the institution, location, proposed programme and intake, physical and instructional facilities, and faculty and staff particulars as information to make available.

Regulation 8(14), substituted by a 2017 amendment, addresses mandatory disclosure in the prescribed format and up-to-date information on the official website. Regulation 8(6) separately addresses displaying a copy of the institution’s land/building affidavit in the circumstances described there. These are distinct provisions, so one uploaded file should not be assumed to satisfy them all.

What information should a college verify?

The categories in regulation 7(14)(i) provide a starting point for checking the college’s approved records. They include:

  • Sanctioned teacher-education programmes and annual intake.
  • Faculty and staff details, plus faculty joining or leaving during the last quarter.
  • Students admitted in the current session and the admission information specified in the regulation.
  • Fees, available infrastructure and facilities added during the last quarter.
  • Library books, subscribed refereed journals and recent additions.

This is a summary of source categories, not a ready-to-publish template. The regulation refers to personal details. The college must verify its records and decide what it is authorised and required to publish. WGT should receive approved material rather than invent staff, student, intake or recognition facts. Regulation 8(14) also refers to a prescribed format; check the current format and the institution’s order before a final disclosure page is signed off.

Does the same list apply to every B.Ed college?

Check the actual programme and recognition history. A two-year B.Ed. college, a college with multiple teacher-education courses and an institution offering integrated B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed. may have different orders and other applicable conditions. An NCTE recognition order issued in 2026 still requires an own website, NCTE link and current mandatory disclosure, but that example concerns an integrated programme. It should not be copied as the standalone B.Ed. college’s complete instruction set.

Obtain the college’s current order, later intake or programme amendments, and affiliating-body instructions. Compare those with the NCTE regulations index. A 2025 replacement regulation was published for consultation; a draft must not be treated as an operative rule. A regulator portal submission is also a separate workflow from the public website duties described by these sources.

How should the public website be organised?

A practical B.Ed website can give the programme, admissions, current fees, faculty, facilities, contact details and NCTE information clear labels. A prominent disclosure index should link to approved pages or files with descriptive names. Visitors should be able to open relevant documents on a phone without guessing what a file such as “scan-final-2.pdf” contains.

This structure is a website-design recommendation, not a claim that NCTE mandates a particular CMS, menu or hosting platform. The exact information and prescribed disclosure format come from the current rule and institution-specific order. WGT can build or improve a B.Ed college website around that approved source packet.

How does a college keep the disclosure current?

Give each section a named staff owner. Review it when intake, faculty, fees, facilities or the governing order changes. Replace obsolete documents in the current public section, test links on a phone and keep an internal record of the source and approval for each update. A scheduled review catches stale files even when no one reports a broken link.

A site redesign cannot grant NCTE recognition or certify compliance. The college remains responsible for the truth of its disclosures; WGT provides the website, document structure and technical update process.

Questions B.Ed college administrators ask

Can an NCTE portal replace our own website?

The cited regulations and recognition orders describe duties for the institution’s own public site. Check portal and website requirements separately for your programme.

Can an existing college site be repaired?

Yes. An audit can identify missing pages, outdated documents, weak mobile layout and broken links before deciding whether to repair or rebuild.

Is this a final legal checklist?

No. The college’s current order, applicable amended text and prescribed format control the final publication list. This guide helps the college assemble and check those sources.
